Salvia (Sage) white shiny - It is popular among gardeners as one of the best plants for garden decoration. A low, compact sage bush blooms brightly and profusely throughout the season - right up to frost. The plant is very unpretentious to soil conditions and tolerates heat and short-term drought well.
Due to the compact size of the bush, salvia can be grown in open ground and in a container - the sage plant has found application for decorating a balcony or terrace. Most often, salvias are used in landscape design as a border plant. Salvia also looks great in the composition of a stone slide or as part of a mixborder.
Variety characteristics:
- bush height – 20-30 cm;
- blooms with panicle-type inflorescences of tubular flowers 3-5 cm;
- flowering time - from June/July to October inclusive;
- attitude to light - sunny area or partial shade;
- disease resistance – very high;
- Heat-loving plant - does not tolerate frost.
Planting sage seeds for seedlings begins in February/March - they are sown in a moist substrate to a depth of no more than 1 cm. It is most convenient to use special greenhouse cassettes for growing seedlings. At a temperature of +20-22 degrees, seedlings appear in 10-14 days. Water the seedlings through a tray. Grown plants are planted in open ground in May/June, when the average temperature is +17 degrees. During the season, water moderately, fertilize once a month.
