Trifoliate orange, Citrus trifoliata or Wild lemon / Poncirus trifoliata - citrus perennial plant with great vigor. In cultivation, the tree grows up to 2 meters; numerous green shoots become woody and thorny with age. Leaf of unusual shape with three leaf blades. Hence the name - three-leaved poncyrus. The white flowers are not large.
The fruits are similar to limes, not large, spherical, aromatic, yellow in color, 4 - 6 cm in diameter. The peel is thick, the pulp has a citrus taste with a large number of seeds, the taste and aroma is reminiscent of lemon.
Poncirus grows in the climatic conditions of Ukraine as a houseplant or greenhouse plant, used as a crop or as a rootstock for other citrus plants.
