Description

Salad «Witloof cone» (chicory) - mid-early biennial variety. In the first year it forms a vertical rosette of leaves and a root crop up to 20 cm long, 3-5 cm in diameter. The flesh of the head is white, juicy, tasty.

Grow by direct sowing in open ground. Root crops are harvested before frost (September-October) and stored at a temperature of 1-2 ° C. Forcing begins a month after harvesting and continues until March. Conditions: abundant watering, covering with peat, temperature from + 7C ° to + 16 C °. Heads of cabbage are harvested no more than 15 cm high.

Contains inulin - an insulin analogue.
