Asparagus aethiopicus / Asparagus spengeri - this is a popular hanging plant. Shoots up to 3 m long, with shiny intense green needle-like «leaves», form a light green lace.
Spengeri asparagus is grown by sowing seeds from February to May in loose and nutritious soil, after soaking the seeds for two days in warm water. At a temperature of 20-25ºC, seedlings appear in 3-4 weeks. Seedlings that have grown to 7-8 cm dive into pots one at a time. During the period of active growth, the plant is regularly watered and sprayed; during winter dormancy, watering is reduced.
Used mainly as an indoor plant for vertical gardening. In summer, Asparagus Spengeri can be kept outdoors.
