An evergreen tree with a sharp-pyramidal crown shape at a young age, oval-pointed in the middle and nest-shaped in old age.

For the first ten years of its life, European fir grows slowly, its annual growth is 10-15 centimeters per year, at the age of ten it is a tree 1.5 - 1.8 meters high and a crown width of 80 - 100 centimeters. In adulthood, it reaches a height of 30 - 65 meters and a crown width of 8 - 12 meters.

The needles are white fir, dark green, with two white stripes below, blunt, its edges are not bent down. The length of the needles is 2 - 3 centimeters, the width is 2 - 3 millimeters, it is located correctly, comb-shaped, in the same plane. Cones are erect, cylindrical, obtuse, 9 - 16 centimeters long. Sharp and narrow integumentary scales protrude above the seed.

White fir looks good in large gardens when creating groups of coniferous evergreens with different colors and shades. Suitable for landscaping parks, squares.

Comb fir is a shade-tolerant tree that easily tolerates partial shade, is moderately demanding on soil and moisture, grows best on rich, moderately moist soils. It easily tolerates frosts down to -30 degrees Celsius.
