Marigold «MIX» / Tagetes patula
It is an annual plant. Stems erect, up to 20 cm high. Inflorescences up to 4 centimeters in diameter, various colors.
Seeds are sown in March-April in a greenhouse or in April-May directly in open ground. At a temperature of 13-16°C shoots appear on the 7-10th day. It grows well in open lighted areas with fertile soil. Used mainly for group plantings, borders, flower beds.
Marigolds contain biologically active substances, phytoncides, micro and macro elements. The thiophene contained in marigolds has a detrimental effect on bacteria, which means that marigolds protect against infections and strengthen our immune system. It was reported on the results of studies, from which it follows that an extract from the flowers of certain types of marigolds kills staphylococcus and fungi of the genus Candida.
Marigolds are also credited with many beneficial medicinal properties. For treatment, fresh plants are used, as well as tea, infusions, extracts, decoctions, marigold oil, the preparation of which does not differ from the preparation of medicinal plants familiar to us. In folk medicine, marigolds are used as anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antimicrobial, decongestant, diaphoretic, anthelmintic, antispasmodic, sedative, hypotensive, antifungal agent.
