Oleaster or olive, silver berry, or wild olive - a bush or small (3-8 m tall) tree with thorny branches of the olive family. Young shoots are silvery-white with star-shaped hairs. The leaves are alternate, linear or elongated-lanceolate, entire, silvery.
The flowers are bisexual, fragrant, 1-3 in the leaf axils, the perianth is 4-lobed, bell-shaped, yellow inside, silver outside. The fruit is drupe-shaped, yellow, mealy. It blooms in June, the fruits ripen in August - September.
